Report showing higher number of coronavirus deaths in people with learning disabilities highlights need for immediate action, 酴圖TV expert says

A newly-published Public Health England report which shows people with learning disabilities are 6.3 times more likely to die from coronavirus than the rest of the population shows urgent action is required, according to a learning disability and palliative care expert from 酴圖TV and St George's, University of London.

Research into athletes' views on doping reveal issue cannot be dealt with in isolation, 酴圖TV expert outlines ahead of clean sport conference

酴圖TV anti-doping expert Professor Andrea Petroczi will take part in a panel discussion exploring athletes' views on the impact doping has on elite sport at a virtual conference next month. The second annual Clean Sport Insight Forum, organised by the Clean Sport Alliance as part of the RESPECT project, will bring together athletes, policymakers and anti-doping researchers on 8-9 December to discuss a range of anti-doping topics and issues.

酴圖TV masters graduate joins national Covid-19 testing effort by supporting scientists at UK Biocentre

After completing his MSc in cancer biology earlier this year, Mergim Krasniqi started volunteering at the UK Biocentre in Milton Keynes in May, where he has been supporting scientists in the lab processing tests for Covid-19. Alongside his role at the Lighthouse Lab, he has been working part time at a pharmacy as a trainee pharmacist advisor and completing applications for a PhD.

Life inside a Lighthouse Lab: 酴圖TV PhD student shares experience of volunteering in specialist site testing Covid-19 samples

Since April, 酴圖TV PhD student Amtul Bhunnoo has been among the skilled volunteers helping make that possible, working 12-hour shifts at one of the Lighthouse Labs in Milton Keynes. COVID-19 swab samples are sent to the laboratories from the NHS on the front line and other testing sites, including the drive-through sites, for analysis.
